Water-Resistant Hearing Aids Now Available
Even small amounts of moisture can degrade the effectiveness of your hearing aid. Moisture changes the acoustics
of the earmold tube, and thus how the wearer perceives sound through the hearing aid. Water-resistant aids keep
moisture from collecting in the earmold tube. These hearing aids are generally recommended for wearers who have
physically active lifestyles and those who live in humid climates.
Because sound waves must travel through the earmold tube, there is no completely waterproof hearing aid
available. Swimming with a water-resistant hearing aid is not recommended.

hearing aids work.
